Thought I’d post something as I haven’t in a while.
I’ve become quite interested in the area of ‘animal apparitions’ lately. If people are experiencing what seems to be humans’ personality living on as a ghost in a haunted location, theoretically there should be no reason why this should not apply to animals as well (after all our brains are made of the same material and work via small electrical impulses).
There two important things to consider here or that you may find of interest. Briefly, one of the most famous of all animal apparition cases, is that research by the grandfather of ghost-hunters Harry Price who was assisted by a colleague (R. S. Lambert) in this particular case in 1935. The case was called ‘The haunting of Cashen’s Gap’ and took place on the Isle of Man. This was then written up into a book by Price & Lambert in 1936. The apparition looked at here remarkably was that of a talking Mongoose called Gef (pronounced Jeff). He haunted a small farm house and would sometimes threaten the family living there. Though Price & Lambert spent some time there only 3 pieces of evidence were produced to support Gef’s existence. However, even these need to be carefully considered as they were highly questionable.
Secondly apparitions of ‘Black Dogs’ (which normal refers to K9 apparitions in general associated with a haunting) are very specific and have been looked at in great detail with regards to haunting experiences. One of my peers Dr. Simon Sherwood is responsible for research into this area. These apparitions have been reported in a great number of places and have well documented features such as large eyes, with foaming and slavering mouths.
I am interested in writing a new article at some point on animal apparitions so if anyone believes they have encountered one please do let me know of your experience. Talk me through it and give full descriptions of the event, the times and dates would be great. Alternatively if you wish to discuss it privately then post me a message.
I look forward to hearing from you guys.
Cheers,
